Feedly Friday is a weekly round-up of manga-related links from my Feedly/RSS reader and from around the web.
This week’s House of 1000 Manga over at ANN covers two Natsume Ono classics, Tesuro and Danza.
There’s a ton of great content over at OASG: this week we have “This Is How You Can Watch Anime Legally in 2014.” The team also looks at “Anime Worth Watching” in July as well as “Manga Worth Watching” in July. Finally, Naru looks at an est em manga, Age of Blue.
Still plenty of SDCC news to wrap up: ANN has a write-up of the convention as well as full reports on “Making A Living in Manga in Japan” and “Lost in Translation,” a panel on manga translation and localization. Deb Aoki has SDCC’s “Best and Worst Manga Picks.” Finally, Sean has the SDCC manga license round-up.
Over at Japanese Tease, Jakob reminds us that “If You Like Dragonball You’ll Love Jaco” a newer comedy manga from Toriyama that features some of the characters from Dragonball. Viz will also have the collected volume out early next year. Also at Japanese Tease, check out thoughts on whether collecting makes sense in the long run. I have a post coming up about my own collecting habits, too!
Looking for free mecha manga? Ash has a contest running for the first volume of Viz’s seinen series Bokurano: Ours. I read about half the series recently (look out for a review!) and can vouch that this is solid series.
I caught a few episodes of Kamisama Kiss at a recent anime convention and it looks like it’ll be getting a second season.
One of my favorite manga, Parasyte, is getting an anime adaption, with recent cast and character design reveals. The designs are definitely an update from the older manga counterpart, but hopefully they’ll grow on me.
There’s a lot of great Viz manga hitting shelves on the 5th and Shojo Beat updates us with all the releases and pretty covers. Can’t wait for Spell of Desire!
With that, Spell of Desire kicks off our reviews this week, with a look over at ANN. ANN also looks at the second volume of Say I Love You. Next up, Manga Test Drive looks at the first volume of the epic Berserk, one of my favorite series. Ken H. looks at the second volume of a newer shoujo manga, My Little Monster. Finally, Ash makes waiting for my latest manga order more excruciating by already reviewing Moyoco Anno’s josei manga In Clothes Called Fat.
Did I miss anything? Feel free to shoot me links in the comments! Until next week!
